DTS Interiors is a continuation of Dee Trim Shop established in Plano, TX in 1976 by Allen Dee Ward and Brenda Kay Ward. DTS Interiors is continuing on the quality workmanship they started by their son Joseph Dee Ward. DTS Interiors is built on the standard of taking what my parents started to the next level. Empowering quality and expertise workmanship in all work both big and small.
In The Beginning...
My dad, Allen Dee, started working nights and out of his apartment doing small upholstery jobs. He also worked nights for Blairs upholstery in Garland refining his work. He had worked for a large company and was in charge of several hundred people but did not see much of a future, and so he started Dee Trim Shop out of his garage. He then moved in a small space on Ave K and grew it into almost the full frontage of the building. Fast forward years later and he had owned several buildings and grew into a very successful local business. I created DTS Interiors upon my dads advice to stretch out on my own and he would support me. He was an old school soul and knew he had to teach me the only way he knew how. You have to take risks to truly appreciate the rewards. I spent weeks thinking about what I would name the shop then I realized It was right there in front of me. DTS Interiors It was Dee Trim Shop 2.0. I am and always will be thankful for my dads lessons and knowledge of life experience. Most of all appreciate all he taught me about upholstery and running a business.
